AS-AP

February 2011

As part of AS-AP’s mission to preserve, present, and protect the archival heritage of living and defunct for- and not-for-profit art spaces, AS-AP has established an agreement with the UB Art Galleries to make available online interviews with artists and curators conducted by Sandra Q. Firmin as part of her curatorial research for the 2010 exhibition, Artpark: 1974-1984.

AS-AP will be transcribing the interviews and publishing them online this spring. The interviews include: David Katzive, and artists Jody Pinto, Mary Miss, and Pat Oleszko. In addition, Sandra Firmin is conducting several newly commissioned interviews with key figures associated with Artpark and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, including Rae Tyson – Visual Arts Coordinator, Artpark, 1974-1978; Mark Lawton – Deputy Commissioner, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation; and Charlie Clough - founding member, Hallwalls.
