The mission of UrbanGlass: New York Contemporary Glass Center is to promote the use and appreciation of glass as a creative medium and to make glass accessible to an increasingly diverse audience through its programs, educational initiatives, and publications. UrbanGlass is an advocate and resource for the field of contemporary glass art. • We provide an affordable, high quality and comprehensive glassworking facility; • We offer opportunities, especially to emerging artists and the economically disadvantaged, to create, exhibit and sell art made from glass; • We provide glassworking expertise through education and technical support; • We promote greater understanding and appreciation of glass art.
