BOMB Magazine publishes in-depth interviews between artists, writers, actors, directors, musicians . . . about their creative process. These interviews, edited by all participants, are published along side original work: Artists’ essays, fiction and poetry. BOMB’s mandate is to act as an artists’ and writers’ spokespiece. We publish the intellectual, personal and social concerns of the people who make our culture, always in dialogue and as such, open-ended and evolving.

BOMB Magazine, an artists and writers’ edited quarterly publication, since its conception in 1981, has grown from a group of 12 contributing editors and 2,000 readers to a publication with over 70 world renowned artists who act as contributing editor and a readership of 50,000. We have published 96 issues and our archives contain over 700 conversations, oral histories that are now housed at Columbia University’s Rare Book and Manuscript Library. History and mandate:
