Chaplin Art Center was founded in 1992, named after Charlie Chaplin, and located in Pärnu, a town of 55,000 inhabitants. In 1998 the Museum of New Art was founded, based on an art collection donated by artists around the world; .now have works by P.Picasso, J.Rustin, Corneille, Y.Ono, J.P.Witkin, E.Lucie-Smith, M.G.Rivera, E.Ohlson, J.Saudek, L.Lapin, P.Mudist, L.Lestberg etc.

Information database, consisting of: book library (Estonian and international); slide library, which is constantly completed according to the local exhibitions; CD-ROM library consisting of works by Estonian video artists and stills; video library about the video works of Estonian artists; copies of published critical articles on art since 1993.These libraries and databases are constantly completed, slides and press materials can be found in computers' database (Pro Cite program).2. Publication of the materials about contemporary art, initiating and publishing of catalogues/ books or CD-ROMs (recent publications: Estonian Artists II, October 2000; Nosy nineties: Problems, Themes and Meanings in Estonian art in 1990s, January 2001, double CD-ROM; VideoArt in Estonia; The Story of Medium of Interruption and Happening, Performance and Live Art in Estonia 1966 - 2000). 3. Assistance and consultations provided for guests; free use of the database and free Internet access.
